Anchor Inn Motel

We ended up staying here on a whim. Let me tell you I'm so glad we did! First it is so cute and so nice. The rooms are excellent. Feels like you're at the beach! Beds are soft and I like my mattresses firm, but I slept so good. I did bring my own pillow..Smart TVs so you can stream from your accounts. The staff/owners were so kind and so quick for any of our needs. They even let my buddy park there for the day. You can definitely walk to the beach, but bring a wagon. So many local options for meals that you can walk to. I would love to come back to visit!

Our stay was pleasant. While we were just in town for one night, we found the Anchor Inn Motel to be perfect for us. The staff is friendly and they proactively kept us informed. Our room was quaint, clean, and we especially liked the fluffy bath towels.

Hotel manager Terry is fabulous and does a great job keeping the rooms clean and everything running smoothly on site. Everything else s spotless and well maintained and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. See ya next year !

Stayed here for a weekend recently and it was a great experience. On site property manager was extremely friendly, helpful and you felt like family after staying here a few days. We stayed in room 119, 2 queen beds. Bed linens and bath towels were provided and the room was very clean. We will definitely stay here again.

The Anchor Inn is in a great location. It's a short walk to the beach two blocks away and there are several stores, restaurants, coffee shops and a grocery store in walking distance plus a Dairy Queen and a great sub shop next to it. The rooms are very clean and cutely decorated. The staff are all very nice, helpful and welcoming. The manager, Terri, goes above and beyond to make sure you have a wonderful stay. We've been vacationing in Oak Island for years and we're so excited that we found this place! We always take our dogs with us on vacation and the Anchor Inn is definitely the nicest pet friendly room we have ever stayed in and the cleanest. The photos online are exactly what the rooms look like, unlike some other places we have stayed in the past. We will definitely stay here on all our future vacations.

The Anchor Inn property, while older and unassuming, is very clean and well maintained. I appreciated the frequent text messages to communicate timely information, the ease of checkin and out, and the welcoming pet accommodations. Thank you, Anchor Inn, for a lovely stay.

Stayed for 2 nights. Clean, comfortable rooms that stayed cool during really hot temperatures. The walls are a bit thin so you do hear neighbors if they're a little loud. Adorable fridge with great freezer. Plenty of towels. Loved the pool and a 5 minute walk to the beach. Also walkable to several restaurants, Dairy Queen & a couple convenience stores & beach shops. Surprisingly quiet from road noise in spite of high traffic. Enjoyed the contactless check-in and check-out. We brought our dog & she enjoyed it, too!

Our room at Anchor Inn was absolutely adorable from top to bottom! Everything has been redone from the beautiful floors, to the gleaming white bathroom. The painted wooden ceilings are beautiful, and the retro fridge may have been my favorite thing of all. We had a short walk to the beach and stores/ restaurants in town. I highly recommend staying here!

This is the 2nd summer we've stayed at the Anchor Inn. It's such a cute motel, but what makes it worth coming back is Terri. She's as sweet as can be and very welcoming! The rooms were very clean! We love their remodel. We will definitely be back!

15 Sept 2025; 1 night; 2 adults & 1 dog. MOM & DAUGHTER W/DOG WEEKEND GET-A-WAY! My daughter had never been to Oak Island, and we were looking for a quick overnight trip away from home. We live about 2 hours away. We knew we wanted the beach, but needed something that would allow her dog. Her dog is an ESA animal. So this trip was her 1st time at Oak Island, and her dog, Steeleo, his 1st beach trip ever!!!! They both loved it! Terri, the wonderful lady that manages the hotel is truly amazing! Very friendly, easy to talk to, out going and a true blessing! Check-in was quick and easy. Terri had texted me with our room number and code for the door lock. There was an issue with the code, due to the batteries in the lock, but she took care of it extremely quick and once the new batteries were put in, no more issues. The room was huge! A lot bigger than I expected. The decor was so cute and the room was so inviting. The beds were so soft and comfy. There was a binder on the table with all information about the hotel, businesses close by, with suggestions of things to do in the area, and more. That was a very nice added touch. I truly liked that. The whole room and bathroom was extremely clean, inviting, comfortable, and quiet. In the bathroom, they offer a small black hand towel with the words MAKE-UP across the bottom of it. I just loved that!! It offered a huge counter with shelves that offered a lot of storage space. Many hotels don't offer much storage space, if any at all, which can make a room feel crowded, especially if you stay for a few days. That was not the case here. We plan on coming back again, and staying longer, and it's nice to know that there is space to store our stuff, so it's organized and out of the way. They offer a pool, which is fantastic and clean! A very short walk, maybe 8 minutes with us walking very slow, and with a dog that had to smell everything on the way. All those new smells for him. The hotel is in walking distance to many amazing shops and restaurant's, and not far from the lighthouse or ferry. Steeleo had a great time on his 1st beach trip. The hotel room has huge windows in the rooms, that go down close to the floor and he loved that! He was able to sit at the window and look out and watch everyone! Overall, we had a wonderful stay. Felt like home, very relaxing and everyone was so nice and friendly. We will be coming back, and staying longer next time.
